What They Remember

The bots don't just respond to individual messages - they build a living memory of your server over time. Here's how it works:

Recent Conversations

Both bots track the last 100 messages in each active channel. This gives them context about ongoing discussions, so they can follow along even if they weren't directly mentioned.

Permanent Memories

Server admins can pin important facts that the bots will always remember:

These memories persist forever and get referenced naturally in conversation.

What They Learn Automatically

• Server identity - Name, member count, rules mentioned in channels
• User names and roles - They know who people are
• Inside jokes - Phrases and references that come up repeatedly
• Emotional context - Who's having a good day, who's frustrated, general server mood
• Custom lore - Server-specific stories, characters, and world-building

Privacy

All memory is per-server. Nothing from one server leaks to another. The bots' AI runs locally - your conversations are never sent to any external service.

How Personality Works

Rascal and Halcyon share the same knowledge but express it completely differently:

Their personalities also adapt over time based on how your community interacts with them. A server that uses lots of 😂 reactions will get a funnier Rascal. A server that asks deep questions will get a more philosophical Halcyon.
