Invite & Setup

Adding the Bots to Your Server

Use the invite links below to add Rascal and/or Halcyon to your Discord server. You'll need Manage Server permission in the server you're adding them to.

Invite links are available from the server owner or the Doombringerz community. If you're self-hosting, generate invite links from the Discord Developer Portal with the bot and applications.commands scopes.

Required Permissions

When inviting, grant these permissions for full functionality:

  • Send Messages & Read Message History - Basic chat
  • Manage Channels - For ticket creation
  • Manage Roles - For auto-role, level roles, color roles, role menus
  • Add Reactions - For polls, giveaways, starboard
  • Embed Links & Attach Files - For rich responses and image gen
  • Manage Messages - For moderation features

First-Time Setup

Once the bots are in your server, a server admin should run:

  • /setup_r - Initialize Rascal (indexes channels, builds initial memory)
  • /setup_h - Initialize Halcyon (same process, separate personality)

This scans your server's channels and recent messages so the bots have context about your community from day one.

Configuring Features

All features beyond basic chat are organized into modules. Modules are disabled by default - a server admin enables them through the admin dashboard or setup commands. See the Modules page for the full list.

Channel Settings

Use /rsettings or /hsettings in any channel to customize how the bots behave there:

  • Interjection chance - How often the bot speaks unprompted (0% to 100%)
  • Active toggle - Enable or disable bot activity in specific channels
  • Channel type - Mark as "general" for higher bot activity
